The International Metal Traid Fair made in Vigo
For the first time, the first Metal Industry and Technologies International Trade Fair in the Iberian Pole was held in Vigo. More than 20,000 visitors were able to enjoy the novelties of more than 200 exhibitors from 10 different countries at Mindtech 2019. A meeting in which, during 3 days, the entire metal sector and associated technologies have been brought together.During these days we have had the opportunity to listen to international papers in various thematic sessions, as well as participate in more than 250 meetings arranged in the days of B2B Meetings and networking. And of course, the recognition of 6 organizations and companies outstanding in innovation, entrepreneurship, technology 4.0, energy efficiency and environmental resource management and CSR, through the SEUA-Mindtech Awards.
The Metal Industry, a booming industry
The metal industry is a technologically less advanced industry like others such as the automotive industry, but it has great potential for improvement. The directors of the companies that make it up, are aware of this potential and are beginning to invest in improvements in digitalization to improve their production processes, quality and energy efficiency of the factory.What we usually find in these companies is a production area with quite obsolete machinery and old systems, since, until now, "everything has worked well" and "we have always done so". However, the paradigm and mindset of companies has to change for a proper transition to a world as changing as today, always focusing on industry 4.0, digitization and generation of added value to the entire value chain.
Among the needs observed in the sector is the collection of production data in real time and analysis of them. Also, investment in intelligent machines that provide information is increasingly necessary.
Muutech in the Mindtech 2019
As on many other occasions the Muutech team came with great enthusiasm to this fair with the intention of providing our knowledge and know-how to the sector. Muutech's corporate responsibility with respect to companies is to provide a quality monitoring service that helps them to centrally have all the information on both their production processes and their information systems, making it possible to improve processes and services in a very easy and simple way, and without prior knowledge in the field.Under these premises, what Muutech prepared for the Mindtech fair has been a model representing an industrial machine with different sensors and elements such as motors, in which data is collected in real-time that is uploaded into the cloud. Thanks to it, we can observe in real time cusotmized control panels or by means of augmented reality techniques (thanks to the integration of the application of our partner Xoia Software Development) data of the machine or productive process: operating time, stop time, maintenance capabilities, production level, energy consumption, cycle time, OEE, etc. As well as the representation of any alarm such as, for example, the loss of connection of the machine.
With all this we have been able to attract the attention of visitors, which has raised many questions and interest, which we hope to concretize in the coming months and help these companies on their way to digitization.
